POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Drew University women's lacrosse team lost by a final of 16-5 at Vassar College in a non-conference outing Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore
Madi Strong scored a pair of goals for the Rangers while classmate
Grace Patane recorded one goal and one assist. Sophomore
Paige Shaw collected six saves for Drew before freshman
Rorrie Sifers notched one save while playing the fourth quarter. Junior
Aubrey Welch posted four draw controls for the Blue and Green.
Reilly Mulcahy posted three goals and two assists while Kali Ringler and Elizabeth Burgess netted three goals apiece for the Brewers, who were playing their season opener.
Vassar never trailed after scoring the game's first 11 goals. The Rangers got on the scoreboard late in the second quarter, receiving back-to-back tallies from Strong.
The Brewers outscored Drew 4-1 in the third quarter, when junior
Emma Gallaro scored for Drew. The two sides played to a 2-2 draw in the final period, as the Rangers received goals from freshman
Hayden Scotti and Patane.
Drew continues its season on Wednesday, when it visits Rowan University at 4 p.m. in another non-conference outing.
