SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Drew University women's lacrosse team traveled to Susquehanna University for its Landmark Conference opener on Saturday. The River Hawks used a fast start to hand the Rangers a 14-4 setback.
Junior
Aubrey Welch scored a pair of goals for the Rangers while sophomore
Paige Shaw collected 10 saves. Freshman
Hayden Scotti added four ground balls for Drew.
Abby Andrus scored five goals for Susquehanna (3-5, 1-0 LC).
The River Hawks outscored the Rangers 8-1 in the opening half. Welch scored with 11:25 left in the first quarter to make it 1-1 before the hosts ended the half on a 7-0 run.
The Rangers held a 3-2 edge in the third quarter. Welch struck again before freshman

Madi Strong scored once apiece to make it a 9-4 game with 2:45 to go in the period. But Susquehanna answered with the last goal of the quarter, then pulled away with four tallies in the final stanza.
Drew picks up its schedule on Saturday, when it visits Catholic University at 1 p.m. in another Landmark Conference affair.
