Box Score TOWSON, Md. – The Drew University men's tennis team lost by a final of 7-0 in a Landmark Conference match at Goucher College on Saturday.
The Gophers (9-5, 4-0 LC) opened the day by winning all three doubles matches to capture the doubles point. The closest match was at the No. 2 spot, where sophomore
Ty Gelijns and senior
Josh Kline fell by a 6-4 count.
Goucher went on to win all six singles matches, though play was extremely tight at the top of the ladder. Nos. 1-3 singles all went to a third set, including a nailbiter at No. 2 in which
Daniel Arcari battled his opponent in a narrow 6-4, 1-6, 11-9 setback. In addition, sophomore
Nicolas Mobayed fought to a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 decision at No. 3 while junior
Jesse Faro came up on the short end of a 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 verdict at No. 1.
The Rangers continue their season on Wednesday, when they host Wilkes University in a Landmark Conference match starting at 4 p.m.
