MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's soccer team recently appeared on CBS News New York after participating in a community outreach event, assisting the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) in its 24-Hour Pack-A-Thon this past Saturday.

Numerous team members were among the more than 600 volunteers who participated in the event. The CFBNJ has held its Pack-A-Thon every year since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it serves as an integral part of its effort to meet the increased need of New Jersey residents who are struggling to put food on the table.

According to the CFBNJ's website, with the impact of inflation on food costs and the expiration of pandemic-related federal program enhancements, New Jersey residents are visiting its partner pantries for food assistance in even greater numbers than at the height of COVID-19.

During the Pack-A-Thon, volunteers came together for 24 hours straight to pack boxes of non-perishable food items for families in need in New Jersey and to help raise awareness about the increase in need in our communities.

The Rangers were among the final groups of volunteers to participate on Saturday morning as CBS News New York's John Elliott highlighted CFBNJ's efforts and the volunteers who made it possible. Drew's Ryan Fischer C'26 was interviewed in the following video and shared his thoughts on CFBNJ and its Pack-a-Thon:
