MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's tennis team competed against a pair of highly-competitive teams in non-conference action on Sunday in the Simon Forum.
 
The Rangers opened the day by facing New Paltz, which carried a 9-3 record into the match, and lost 6-1 before falling 7-0 to The College of New Jersey.
 
Against New Paltz, sophomore 
Danielle Pettoni recorded a victory, winning 8-3 at No. 4 singles. Pettoni and sophomore 
Kapriana Payami played the closest match in doubles, as they were edged just 7-5 at the No. 3 spot.
 
TCNJ defeated New Paltz 7-0 in the second match of the day before taking on the Rangers. Senior

Sophie Weaver posted Drew's closest score, dropping a 6-3 decision at No. 1.
 
The Rangers continue their season on Thursday, when they visit the University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference match starting at 4 p.m.
