NEWARK, N.J. – The Drew University women's cross country team kicked off its 2025 season with the NJIT Alumni Invitational at Branch Brook Park on Friday.
The Rangers placed third with a score of 82 while competing against fellow Division III rival Ramapo College along with Division I NJIT, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Manhattan University. Manhattan won with a score of 27.
Drew's top finisher was senior
Annelise Wade, who placed 11th in the field of 40. She placed second among Division III competition and was timed at 20 minutes, 32 seconds over the flat and fast 5,000-meter circuit. She was followed by junior
Skyler McGuire, who finished 13th in 21:03.
The next Ranger to cross the finish line was senior
Emily Camlet, a track & field standout and national qualifier in the 400 meters who was competing in her first cross country meet. She placed 15th with a time of 21:22.
Rounding out Drew's team scoring were junior
Sarah Hattan, who placed 19th in 21:36, and sophomore
Isabella Fortunato, who took 24th in 22:11.
Also competing were sophomore
Perri Rubin (30th, 22:56), sophomore
Bella Polizzi (34th, 23:18), and junior
Sophia Kim (35th, 23:19).
The Rangers are back in action on Friday, when they host the Ranger Invitational, which will be held at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, New Jersey.
