DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Kate Rice placed sixth out of 93 runners to lead the Drew University women's cross country team at the Delaware Valley Invitational on Saturday.
Competing in her first race of the season, Rice scaled the 6,000-meter course in 24 minutes, 34 seconds. She was followed across the finish line by senior
Annelise Wade, who finished 26th in 26:28, and junior
Skyler McGuire, who was 31st in 26:35.
Rounding out the team score were sophomores
Isabella Fortunato, who placed 50th in 27:55, and
Perri Rubin, who came in 52nd in 28:13.
Also competing were junior
Sophia Kim, who was 61st in 28:53, and sophomore
Bella Polizzi, who took 71st in 29:48.
As a team, the Rangers placed sixth out of nine teams, placing in front of Arcadia, Stevenson, and Delaware Valley. Messiah University captured both the team and individual titles, with Ella Swayne placing first in 23:30.
Drew will compete in a tri-meet with FDU-Florham and Saint Elizabeth University on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Giralda Farms Preserve Trail 4K course.
