MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team opened its dual-match season with a 7-0 victory over Pratt Institute on Saturday at the Drew Tennis Complex.
Senior
Jesse Faro, junior
Daniel Arcari, junior
Nicolas Mobayed, and senior
Shivi Perera won at both singles and doubles to lead the way for the Rangers.
Drew opened the match by capturing the doubles point, winning at the first and second spots. Faro and Arcari posted a 6-1 victory at No. 1, as did Mobayed and Perera at No. 2.
The Rangers went on to sweep all six singles matches. Faro registered a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1 while Arcari recorded a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2. Mobayed won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3, and Perera logged a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at No. 4.
Junior
Ty Gelijns added a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 5, and senior
Devan Sutaria battled to a 6-0, 5-7, 10-8 win at No. 6.
The Rangers continue their season at the ITA Division III Northeast Region Championship, which will be held Thursday through Sunday at Skidmore College.
