WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Freshman Jaelyn Yeon tied for fifth among 16 competitors to lead the Drew University women's golf team at The Melee, held at Williamsburg National Course, on Sunday and Monday.
 
The Rangers shot a 706 (351-355) to finish second out of three teams. They beat Shenandoah (719) but placed behind team champion Salisbury (690).
 
Yeon shot a 170 (83-87) and carded four birdies for the tournament.
 
Drew's second through fourth finishers all placed within five strokes of one another. Freshman Eleanor Hamilton placed seventh with a 176 (87-89), shooting a pair of birdies in each round, while junior Isabella Borte took eighth with a 179 (88-91), including a birdie on the par-3 eighth hole in the opening round.
 
Completing the team score was freshman Maggie Keithan, who came in 10th with a 181 (93-88). First-year Olivia Harrison also competed and placed 14th with a 190 (94-96).
 
Salisbury's Krista Brosius claimed medalist honors with a 157.
 
Drew closes out the fall portion of its schedule with the Landmark Conference Fall Preview, held Saturday and Sunday at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort in Shawnee on Delaware, Pa.
