DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. – The Drew University men's golf team participated in the highly-competitive West Pines Intercollege, hosted by Oglethorpe University and held at West Pines Golf Club, on Monday and Tuesday and placed 16th out of 24 teams.

The Rangers shot an 884 (292-292-301) for the 54-hole event, which included a number of teams consistently ranked among the top programs in Division III in recent years.

Senior Avery Cohen turned in the top finish for Drew, tying for 15th in a field of 128 golfers. He shot a collegiate-best for 54 holes, firing an even-par 213 (73-69-71). It was the second-best 54-hole mark in team history, trailing only the 210 shot by Elliot Parker C'26 at the same even two years ago. Cohen carded 12 birdies for the event, including five in his middle round, and he tied for third among all golfers on par-4s, shooting 2-under par (3.98 average).

Drew's second finisher was junior Sam Dolan, who tied for 28th with a 217 (71-74-72). He led the entire field with 43 pars, and he also birdied four holes.

Rounding out the team score were freshman John Gavaghan and senior Thomas Hurley. Gavaghan registered a 228 (74-75-79), tying for 86th, while Hurley tied for 93rd with a 230 (74-75-81). Senior Eric Castner was also in action and tied for 101st with a 232 (79-74-79).

The Rangers return to the links Oct. 18-19 with The Melee, held at Williamsburg National Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va.
