Coming off another strong season in 2024-25, the Drew University men's tennis will take aim at a Landmark Conference title once again this spring.
Under the direction of second-year Head Coach
Geoffrey Diehl C'20, the Rangers are coming off a season in which they finished 12-9 and 7-2 in Landmark Conference play. The squad nearly captured the conference title as the No. 3 seed, as they were edged just 4-3 by top-seeded Goucher College in the final.
This season, the Rangers bring back a large portion of their team from a year ago, including a pair of All-Landmark Conference performers in senior
Jesse Faro and junior
Daniel Arcari.
Faro was a First-Team All-Landmark Conference selection in both singles and doubles last season. Competing at No. 1 singles, he finished 13-9 overall and 7-1 in Landmark Conference play a year ago, winning his last six conference matches in regular-season play. He also posted an 18-14 doubles record for the season, including a 7-2 mark in Landmark Conference action. Faro was also named the Landmark Conference Player of the Year in 2024.
Arcari also landed first-team all-conference recognition in doubles and was an honorable mention in singles. He posted an 8-8 record for the season while competing at No. 2 singles, including a 4-2 mark in conference play, and he also recorded an overall doubles record of 16-14, including a 5-2 conference mark.
Senior
Shivi Perera also returns after a season in which he went 5-9 while splitting his time at Nos. 3-5 singles. One of the team's most experienced performers, he was also 6-11 in doubles, mostly at the No. 2 position, and was 5-2 in conference matches.
Also returning as regular starters from a year ago are junior
Ty Gelijns and sophomore
Nicolas Mobayed. Gelijns went 4-11 (4-4 in conference) while competing at Nos. 3-6 singles and was 13-11 (5-2 in conference) in doubles, mostly at the No. 3 slot. Mobayed went 7-6, including 4-1 in Landmark Conference matches, while playing at Nos. 2-4 singles. He also posted a 9-7 doubles record (3-1 in conference), mostly at the No. 2 spot.
