Day Two Results
BALTIMORE – Sophomore
Kyra Gorman won the gold medal in the 50-freestyle, leading the Drew University women's swimming & diving team on the second day of the Landmark Conference Championships, held at Loyola University's Mangione Aquatic Center, on Friday.
The Rangers are in fourth place after scoring 145 points thus far. Scranton leads the way with 339 points and is followed by Catholic (283.5), Susquehanna (154), Drew, Juniata (117.5), Elizabethtown (106), Wilkes (100), Lycoming (58), Moravian (51), and Goucher (28).
Gorman clocked a time of 24.36 seconds, winning by 0.15 seconds over Catholic's Grace Kelly for her third career gold medal.
The Rangers also garnered a silver in the 400-medley relay, as senior
Ece Onatca, senior
Sarah Weber, freshman
Adriana Scanga, and Gorman teamed up for a 4:01.20 clocking.
Like Gorman, sophomore
Ellis Murray also reached the championship finals and placed seventh in the 200-IM (2:18.18).
In the consolation finals, freshman
Molly Loughlin took 14th in the 50-freestyle (25.78) while senior
Kaitlyn Zayle was 15th in the same event (25.92).
The championship continues on Saturday, with prelims starting at 10 a.m. and finals taking place at 5:30 p.m.
