Box Score 1 MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team split a home tri-match on Saturday in the Simon Forum.
The Rangers opened the day with a 7-0 loss to The College of New Jersey before capturing a 4-3 victory over Dickinson College.
Against TCNJ, two Rangers played their opponent to a super tiebreaker third set. Senior
Jesse Faro won his opening set in a tight 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-6 loss at No. 1 singles while junior
Daniel Arcari was just edged at second singles in a 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 verdict.
Versus Dickinson, the Red Devils jumped to a 1-0 lead after capturing the doubles point. Arcari and Faro won 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, but Dickinson won at the second and third positions.
In singles action, the Rangers won at the top four spots in the lineup. Faro prevailed 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 while Arcari earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Sophomore
Nicolas Mobayed earned a 6-0, 3-6, 10-6 win at No. 3 to clinch the match while senior
Shivi Perera was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at No. 4.
The Rangers continue their season on Saturday, March 7, when they travel to Hobart College for a non-conference match.
