WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Drew University women's tennis team opened its Landmark Conference schedule with a 7-0 victory at Lycoming College on Saturday.
The Rangers opened by sweeping the three doubles matches to go up 1-0. Sophomore
Madison Williams and senior
Natalia Zamora prevailed in a tiebreaker, winning 7-6 (7-3) at No. 1, while junior
Riley Roesel and sophomore
Nicole Kalorin won 6-1. Junior
Daylin Evans and freshman
Natalia Melendez Sanchez also prevailed 6-1 at No. 3.
Earning one team point each for their singles victories were Roesel won at No. 1 (6-1, 6-2), Zamora at No. 2 (6-4, 6-1), Kalorin at No. 3 (6-0, 6-0), Williams at No. 4 (6-1, 6-0), junior
Danielle Pettoni at No. 5 (6-1, 6-0), and junior
Kapriana Payami at No. 6 (6-1, 6-1).
The Rangers are back in action on Wednesday, when they visit Moravian University in a Landmark Conference match starting at 4 p.m.
