Roxy Riles has been chosen as the Landmark Conference Women's Golf Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.
Riles overcame a four-stroke deficit after the opening round to claim medalist honors with a 147 (75-72), leading Drew to a 23-stroke victory among six teams at the Ruckus, Drew's spring opener held at Williamsburg National Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va. She fired five birdies for the tournament, and she lowered her career-best 18-hole score with her second-round 72. It was the third career victory for Riles and first of the season.
For the season, Riles has averaged an 80.4 over six events and 11 rounds, ranking second among the Rangers.
The Rangers continue their season on Monday, April 6 at the Stevenson University Invitational, held at Piney Branch Golf Club in Upperco, Md.
