Aubrey Welch struck to even the score again midway through the period.
Kean scored twice in 36 seconds to go up 6-4 with 7:33 remaining in the third quarter, but Gallaro found the back of the net to make it a 6-5 game heading into the final period.
Gallaro scored again just over a minute into the fourth quarter to level the game at 6-6, but the Cougars answered with 11:20 remaining to back in front.
