SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Drew University women's lacrosse team saw its 2026 season come to a close at Susquehanna University in the first round of the Landmark Conference Championship tournament, as the River Hawks captured a 12-7 decision at a rainy Sassafras Field.
Despite the loss, the fifth-seeded Rangers finish the season with a 10-6 record, which doubled their win total from a season ago, while returning to the Landmark Conference postseason after a one-year absence.
Junior
Madi Strong netted four goals for Drew, marking her second-highest scoring output of the season. Senior
Emily Monaco posted one goal, one assist, four draw controls, and three caused turnovers in her final collegiate outing while classmate
Aubrey Welch closed out her career with one goal, four DCs and four CTs. Freshman
Gianna Paz contributed three caused turnovers.

Paige Shaw made five saves while playing the opening half before sophomore
Rorrie Sifers played the third and fourth quarters between the pipes.
Abby Andrus tallied four goals and one assist while Aerin O'Brien collected 10 saves for the fourth-seeded River Hawks (10-8), who will now visit top-seeded and No. 12-ranked University of Scranton in the tournament semifinals.
Strong scored the game's first two goals over the game's first six minutes to give the Rangers an early lead. But that's when the hosts responded with a 5-0 run to go up by three with 11:56 left in the first half.
Welch snapped Susquehanna's run when she found the back of the net with 8:12 remaining in the first half to make it 5-3. The River Hawks scored the next two goals to go up by four, but Monaco buried a shot with 55 ticks showing to make it a 7-4 game at the half.
Susquehanna edged the Rangers 3-2 in the third quarter to nudge its lead to 10-6 heading into the final period. Strong tossed in her final two goals of the game in the stanza, including the last tally of the quarter with 4:43 showing.
Neither side scored again before junior
Grace Patane struck with 8:46 remaining in the game, drawing the Rangers to within 10-7. But it would turn out to be Drew's final goal, and the Hawks added a pair of insurance tallies over the last five and a half minutes.
In a game that was even statistically, the Rangers finished with a 25-22 edge in shots while each side picked up 23 ground balls. Susquehanna finished with one more turnover (28-27) than the Rangers and held a slim 11-10 advantage in draw controls.
