CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Drew University women's tennis team saw its 2025-26 season come to a close on Thursday in the semifinals of the Landmark Conference Championships with a 4-1 loss to No. 1-seeded University of Scranton in a match played indoors at the Birchwood Racquet Club.
The No. 4-seeded Rangers (10-11) earned a victory from junior
Danielle Pettoni at No. 5 singles, prevailing in straight sets (6-3, 6-4). She closes out the season with a record of 12-8.
The Royals (13-3) opened the match by clinching the doubles point with victories at the first and third positions. They went on to earn three singles wins at the first, second, and fourth spots to clinch the match before third and sixth singles were completed. Freshman
Natalia Melendez Sanchez had forced a third set at No. 6 singles, winning the opener 6-4 before her opponent won 6-1 in the second set.
Drew was making its sixth straight appearance in the Landmark Conference Championships.
