2016-17: Qualified for the “B” final in the 200 backstroke at the Landmark Championships, taking 15th overall in 2:21.52…Placed second in the 100 freestyle (59.81) in a tri-meet against Elizabethtown and FDU-Florham on Nov. 19.
High School: Attended Belleville...Played soccer for Coach Percy Pineda and swam for Coach Dan Sanacore.
Personal: A double major in business and Spanish... Daughter of Noemi and Sergio Cortez.
