Sickle Cell Trait Testing Policy

In January 2013, the NCAA membership voted to require documentation of sickle cell trait status for Division III student-athletes. In compliance with the NCAA, Drew University will require confirmation of sickle cell trait status for all first year student-athletes for the 2013-2014 school year and all returning athletes by 2014-2015.

Concussion Information
Effective May 2010 there will be stricter application of the concussion policy as per the NCAA. All Athletes please review the below packet and become familiar with the Drew University Concussion Prototcol. After you familiarize yourself with Drew's Concussion Protocol, NCAA Concussion Fact Sheet, Sample SCAT Test, and the Head Injury Warning Sheet, ALL ATHLETES MUST complete the baseline IMPACT Test. ADHD Information

Effective August 2009 there will be a stricter application of the NCAA medical exception policy for the use of banned stimulant medication to treat ADHD. If you are taking medication for the treatment of ADD/ADHD you must read and complete these two forms:

The second form must be filled out by your physician
ADHD Medication Exemption Information Form

Returning student athletes can attach the ADHD Medication Exemption Information Form to their Pre-participation Physical Examination Form.

Freshman and Transfer students will attach the ADHD Medication Exemption Information Form to their Medical History Form for First Year Athletes.
