Why did you choose Drew University?
I chose to attend Drew because it fit many of the requirements I was looking for in a university. Drew is close to home, close to a major city, is a small school, has a great field hockey team, has a liberal arts education, and most importantly, it really felt like a good fit after I had visited.

Why did you choose your major and what is your favorite course?
I chose to declare majors in both Sociology and Spanish because I would like to pursue a career in public relations and marketing after graduation. Sociology is a great background for PR because it allows you to understand people, what they want, and how to market products to them. Spanish allows me to be bilingual, which will open doors to work for clients that speak Spanish or even travel to a Spanish speaking country and work on different accounts there.

What is your most memorable moment as a Ranger?
One of the most memorable moments I have had as a Ranger was during the 2013 season when we beat Catholic University in overtime at Ranger Stadium. The entire team was hugging and chanting "Who's House? Our House!" which became a saying we all loved repeating after a big win. We had worked extremely hard for that moment and it was such and exciting and rewarding feeling to have beaten our rivals.

How has being an athlete helped you as a student and in the classroom?
Being an athlete has taught me many valuable life lessons which translate to the classroom such as leadership skills, the importance of patience, teamwork and time management.

What is the most difficult part of your sport?
I think the most difficult part about playing field hockey is the mental part of the game. It is an important component to a winning team that takes time and concentration.

Why do you wear your jersey number?
The number 21 is a very special to me because it was also my dads number when he played ice hockey at Yale University.

What advice do you have for a prospective Drew University student-athlete?
When picking a university, make sure that it is a good fit for more than just athletics. We are student-athletes, and it is important to remember that these two things go hand-in-hand.

Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Drew?
Community service is important to me as a student-athlete at Drew because we have the ability to give back to our community through team organized events or through Drew SAAC. I have had a leadership role in SAAC for the past two years and I always enjoy organizing events to raise money for various charities and to make a difference in our community.
