Why did you choose Drew University?
I chose Drew University because I wanted to receive a great liberal arts education and I really wanted to be a part of the tight knit community of Drew.

Why did you choose your major and what is your favorite course?
My major is Business Studies. I chose this major because I’m intrigued with economics, however I also wanted to learn about other aspects of business. My favorite course as of now would have to be Business Ethics.

What is your most memorable moment as a Ranger?
My most memorable moment as a Ranger is probably when we beat Susquehanna University in extra innings 3-2 with Al Kraus’ walk off single.  The game had huge playoff implications and at the time, it was a must win. Not only did we win, but also how we won was so thrilling it is one of the games as a Ranger I will never forget.

How has being an athlete helped you as a student and in the classroom?
Being an athlete helps me immensely as a student. Being an athlete you have to not only take care of how you are viewed on the field, but also in the classroom. When it comes to being under pressure in the classroom, baseball teaches me how to keep my composure whether it is for a test or an assignment. Baseball teaches that no task is too much to handle. The things being an athlete teaches goes way farther than sports itself, but with how to approach education and even life in general.

What is the most difficult part of your sport?
The amount of pressure that is in the game of baseball is huge. Being able to keep your composure and stay calm during a time of adversity is one of the most difficult parts of the game, but it must be practiced in order to find success and not let your opponents get the best of you.

Why do you wear your jersey number?
I chose my number 14 because of one of my favorite Boston Red sox players, Jim Rice.

What advice do you have for a prospective Drew University student-athlete?
Always give 100% whether it is in practice, games, and even in the classroom. It goes a long way in terms of how you perform in your sport and how you perform in the classroom. People always notice a hard worker and success is often present for people who grind.

Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Drew?
Community service is important to me as a student-athlete because I love helping others and giving back. Athletes are very noticeable on campus. Knowing that we are helping others, and knowing that others notice that we love to help is a feeling like no other.

Name one obstacle or form of adversity you have had to overcome...
I am not the tallest athlete.  Especially as a pitcher you don’t come across many my height. However, I do not let this affect me. When other pitchers are worrying about being a power pitcher, I worry about being a crafty pitcher that hits his spots. Being my height and not being able to throw harder allows me to be different from the rest. My uniqueness is where I believe a majority of my success comes from. My adversity I believe is my strength.
