Why did you choose Drew University?
Drew was one of the few schools that offered Neuroscience and is a school that many of my former high school teachers recommended I look into. On my first visit to the school, I knew I’d made the right choice

What is something most people don't know about you?
My clarinet is my baby. I haven’t played much since coming to Drew, but I miss playing it.

What is your most memorable moment as a Ranger?
My most memorable moment would be the first meet after about 2 weeks off from being sick. I had missed a meet and about 2 weeks of practice. I was nowhere near where I’d been prior to being sick but my teammates were supportive every step of the way. This is when I knew that the team was more like a family to me.

How has being an athlete helped you as a student and in the classroom?
Being involved in a sport helps a lot with time management. You learn to use your time to complete different assignments and have study sessions while also managing to go to practices and meets

What is the most difficult part of your sport?
Using your heart and mind, not just your legs. You don’t want to let your team down, and you don’t want to let yourself down either. You need to find that motivation and strength to keep pushing and keep going.

Why do you wear your jersey number?

Jersey numbers aren’t given in cross country, but we get different race numbers at every meet. I tend to keep them after every race and look back at how much I’ve accomplished throughout the year.

What advice do you have for a prospective Drew University student-athlete?
Drew provides you with what you need to achieve athletically and academically. As a student-athlete, you shouldn’t be afraid to reach out to teammates, coaches, or professors if there is an issue with school work or time management.

Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Drew?
Community service allows us to represent Drew and give back to a community that helps us achieve our goals.

Name one obstacle or form of adversity you have had to overcome...
You can’t really rely on others from your team for you to do well. You just have to keep in mind that only you decide whether you do your best and use your full potential or not. A huge obstacle at every race is when you see people from other teams passing you. You feel like giving up but that’s when you have to try your hardest.
