Why did you choose Drew University?
I was attracted to Drew University by its vibrant website, but fell in love with the school because of its beautiful, earthy campus and from the academic programs and opportunities the school offered.

What is something most people don't know about you?
I was captain and MVP of my high school bowling team. My high game was a 255 and my senior year was the first time in 12 years the girls bowling team qualified for the NCAA State Championship tournament.

What is your most memorable moment as a Ranger?
My most memorable moment as a Ranger is when my team hugs me as I cross the finish line. There is so much love in the DUXC family. The moments after race are filled with congratulations, love and support, and they are memories I will never forget.

How has being an athlete helped you as a student and in the classroom?
Being an athlete has helped my time management skills. It’s important to balance your time inside and outside of the classroom in order to preform at the best of your ability.

What is the most difficult part of your sport?
Cross Country is an extremely mental sport. At times it is difficult to remain mentally tough, but it is the greatest achievement to be able to overcome any thoughts of giving up.

Why do you wear your jersey number?

Cross Country does not designated jersey numbers to its runners however; we do wear racing bibs with numbers and the title of the race. I have saved every bib I have raced in and it is inspirational to look back on the courses I’ve ran to motivate me to do even better in the races to come.

What advice do you have for a prospective Drew University student-athlete?
Cherish each practice, bus ride, and meet/game/match because every moment with your team is treasurable.

Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Drew?
As a Civic Scholar, community service plays a primary role in my college experience. I take volunteering into consideration when planning for classes, extracurricular activities, internships, and my career. This past year I joined the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), which allows student-athletes to direct the qualities we use during competition (i.e., strength, commitment, endurance and teamwork) towards improving the lives of others. It was incredible to intertwine my passion for community service with my love for athletics.

Name one obstacle or form of adversity you have had to overcome...
Prior to running for Drew University, I have no competitive running experience. At times it can be discouraging when nearly all of the members of my team have ran either cross country or track, however, I try to remind myself that it doesn’t do any good to compare someone’s middle to my beginning. The “Drew Pack” consists of the most loving and supportive teammates I could ask for. We encourage each other to be the best we can be, all while being best friends.
