Chris Anderson enters his second season with the Rangers in 2015 after joining Head Coach Brian Hirschberg's staff for the 2014 season. Anderson founded the baseball program at Barclay College in Haviland, Kansas in 1999. He served as the head coach of the program for two seasons and won the Southwest Region Coach of the Year Award in 2001. Prior to taking over the baseball program at Barclay, Anderson coached the school’s basketball team for two seasons. Anderson left Barclay in 2001 to begin his doctoral studies at Drew.
The Erie, Pa. native was a two-sport star at United Wesleyan College in Allentown, Pa. Anderson received his Bachelor’s degree in Religion at Houghton College in 1991 and earned his Ph. D. in American Religion and Culture from Drew University in 2006.
Anderson is the founding editor of the International Journal of Religion and Sport and hosted the conference at Drew, The Sports of Respect which featured five presentations combining faith, race and baseball. Speakers included Library Directors from both the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center.
Anderson currently resides in Madison, N.J.
