Ryan Gibbons joined the Drew University baseball staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2014.

Gibbons played NCAA Division III baseball at Kean University and William Paterson University, and will realize a lifelong dream when he pulls on the Blue and Green in Madison for the spring of 2015. He has also served as an assistant coach for the New Jersey Cardinals baseball program, for which he was responsible for player instruction, situational approaches and offensive strategy. He organized physical training regimens, nutritional advice and coordinated travel and equipment management.
 
A classic five-tool player and captain, Gibbons hit .329 in two seasons with William Paterson with 91 runs, eight home runs, 60 RBIs, 29 stolen bases and a .986 fielding percentage in the outfield. The Glen Rock, N.J. native transferred to WPU from Kean University, where he competed in baseball during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. While at Kean, he compiled a .283 batting average in 76 games played (54 starts), 34 RBIs and 66 hits.
 
Gibbons will be coaching the outfielders and will also serve as assistant hitting coach with Lou Colon.
 
In 2012, Gibbons was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team, D3baseball.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team, New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association All-State First Team and All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team.
