Vinny Carlesi Jr. will enter his first year as an assistant baseball coach at Drew University in 2025-26.
Carlesi spent the last two seasons at Stevens Institute of Technology, where he was the director of player and program development during his first year. In his second season, he was promoted to hitting and third-base coach and helped lead the Ducks' offense to multiple school records, including home runs, triples, OPS, and slugging percentage while stealing 113 bases at a 85 percent clip.
Prior to his stint at Stevens, Carlesi spent two years as an assistant coach at Montville High School, helping lead the squad to back-to-back sectional finals appearances.
Carlesi has also been an assistant coach for the Essex Legends of the ACBL for two seasons, helping lead the team to the championship game in 2024.
A 2020 Drew graduate, Carlesi played two seasons for the Rangers, contributing both in the outfield and on the mound. Prior to Drew, he spent two years at Immaculata University, where he played the outfield and helped the Mighty Macs reach the conference finals during his freshman season. He attended Morris Catholic High School, where he was a three-year varsity starter. In his senior season he was team MVP, first-team all state, all county, and all conference while capturing the Morris County batting title with a .490 average, which included 46 hits.
Carlesi graduated from Drew with a degree in business and is pursuing his master's degree in sports management.
