Joe Gothmann will enter his first full season as an assistant men's and women's golf coach at Drew University in 2020-21.

“I am excited to have PGA professional Joe Gothmann joining our staff," said Drew Head Coach Maura Ballard. "He has extensive playing and teaching experience and has already made a tremendous impact on our team members. I look forward to working closely with Joe to continue to build our winning culture.”

Gothmann worked with the Rangers briefly in the spring of 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the remainder of the season being canceled. He has served as a professional instructor for the last 11 years, most recently as the Director of Instruction and Junior Program Director at the Anchor Golf Center in Whippany, N.J. He has conducted both private and semi-private lessons as well as corporate golf clinics while managing the entire instructional program for the Anchor Junior Summer Camps. Gothmann has also served as an independent golf instructor/coach for JMGolf since 2017.

From 2010-16, Gothmann was the First Assistant Golf Professional at Ardsley Country Club in Ardsley-on-Hudson, N.Y. He managed the entire operation on a day-to-day basis, instructing, developing, and successfully running all clinics and camps. He also coordinated, promoted and taught Ardsley’s extensive junior program. He gained additional experience as an Assistant Golf Professional at Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, N.Y. in 2009. 

An accomplished golf player as well, Gothmann led the money list for New Mexico State University's Professional Golf Management Program, earning five individual wins. He also shot 64 to set the course record at North Hills CC for a 5-shot win on the Metropolitan Section Assistants Tour. In addition, He posted a 66-69 to finish in a tie for second in the Met Professional Championship and gain a spot in the National Club Pro in 2014.

Gothamann graduated from New Mexico State with a double major in Business Administration and Marketing & Finance.
