Augie Carlozzi will enter his third year as an assistant swimming & diving coach at Drew University in 2024-25.
Carlozzi came to the Forest from Caravel Academy in Bear, Delaware, where served as the swimming head coach in 2021-22 while leading the Buccaneers to the state finals. He designed and coached workouts for various skill levels; led strength, conditioning, and mobility sessions; and created strategic meet lineups.
Before his stint at Caravel Academy, Carlozzi served as an assistant coach for Swim Ithaca – an elite, age-group team in Ithaca, New York – in 2019. H was also the head coach for the Darley Dragons club swim swimming team in Claymont, Delaware in 2017. Carlozzi has gained additional experience as swimming instructor for the Sanford School Camp (Wilmington, Delaware, 2017), assistant swimming coach for the Westminster Dolphins (Wilmington, Delaware; 2013-16), and swimming mentor for Brandywine YMCA (Wilmington, Delaware, 20011-16).
As a collegiate student-athlete, Carlozzi was a four-year team member at Ithaca College from 2016-20. He was part of the Ithaca Student Leadership Scholars Program and was an individual finalist at the Liberty League Championships. He graduated in 2020 with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science (sports sciences) and a minor in coaching.
Carlozzi holds a DIAA Swim Coach Certification. An accomplished aquathlete, he placed ninth the 16-19 age group for Team USA at the Chicago World Championships in 2015, and he was also a national aquathlon 16-19 age-group champion in 2014.
