Tauriello joins the Rangers’ staff for the 2014 season, after leaving Cedar Grove High School, where she was named Essex County Softball Coach of the Year for the 2011 season. She was a four-year starter at third base for the Nittany Lions.
In 1990 she was named a NCAA Division I Regional All-American, named a member of the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team and set a school record for sacrifices, which still stands today, in a season (23). She remains in the top five for hits, singles, walks and at-bats. In her senior season Tauriello was ranked eighth on the National “Toughest to Strike Out” list going 156 at-bats with only one strikeout. After Penn State Tauriello returned home to New Jersey to earn a Master’s Degree in education from Seton Hall University, where she would later have a four year stint as the head coach. In just two seasons as the head coach at Cedar Grove High School, Tauriello posted 39 victories and won two North 1, Group 1 Championships.
The Montville N.J. native, recorded a school record 11 varsity letters in her four years at Montville Township High School. In her senior year Tauriello was named Montville Township High School Female Athlete of the Year, 2nd Team All State in softball and received a scholarship to play Division I softball.
She currently resides in Morristown and works as a personal instructor at The Pitching Factory in Fairfield, N.J. In her free time Tauriello enjoys playing music as she was the drummer for the band Antigone Rising.
