After a tremendous playing career at Drew University, Gwen Alberici C’23 will enter her second season as an assistant women’s basketball coach for the Rangers in 2024-25. During her first season on the bench, she helped lead Drew to a berth in the Landmark Conference Championship tournament.
A point guard, Alberici helped lead the Blue and Green to a strong four-year run, as the Rangers posted a 55-31 record throughout her tenure from 2019-23. She helped the squad post its two highest victory totals in team history, as the Rangers finished 18-10 in 2019-20 and 17-8 in 2022-23 while also reaching the Landmark Conference tournament for the first time in a normal season in 2021-22, when the team finished 16-8.
Alberici played in all 86 games during her career while making 58 starts. She finished with career totals of 457 points, 245 assists, and 138 steals, posting career-highs of 29 points, nine assists, and eight steals. As a senior, she was the Landmark Conference leader in both assists (4.6 apg) and steals (2.5 spg) and was fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5).
