Owen Barreira enters his second year as an assistant coach for the Drew University women's basketball team in 2023-24.
In his first year at the Forest, Barreira helped the Rangers to an outstanding season, as the squad finished 17-8 and posted the second-most wins in team history.
Barreira came to Drew from Metuchen (N.J.) High School, where he served as an assistant boys basketball coach during the 2021-22 season. He also gained experience as a summer league coach for the Drew University Women's Basketball Summer League and as a counselor at the Roselle Catholic High School Basketball Camp. In addition, he served as team manager for the Kean University women's basketball team from 2018-22.
