Rob Schaal enters his second season as an assistant men's and women's golf coach at Drew University in 2019-20. In his first season on staff in 2018-19, he helped lead the Rangers to a tremendous season, as the women's team won the Landmark Conference title by 41 strokes while the men's team was the conference runner-up. Both teams also boasted the Landmark Conference Player of the Year by virtue of capturing medalist honors. Lucy Lamb C'21 won the women's title by 25 strokes while Lucas Artigliere C'22 claimed the men's crown on two playoff holes.
"Coach Schaal is one of the best teaching pros in the New York Metropolitan area," remarked Drew Head Coach Maura Ballard at the time of his hiring. "He has worked on my staff for many years in the past and has been an integral part of the success of my teams. I am thrilled he agreed to join me at Drew."
