Lauren Mallon enters her fifth season as an assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Drew University in 2019-20. Previously, she served as the head women's coach at her alma mater, John Jay University, for two seasons in 2013 and 2014. In addition, she was the assistant men's coach at John Jay in 2013. A Staten Island native, Mallon was a four-year women's tennis player for the Bloodhounds during the years of 2008 and 2010-2012.
In preparation to assume the head coaching position at John Jay, Mallon was certified in Adult Development by Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). After she completed a comprehensive examination, Mallon received the Associate Instructor rating. PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals and has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization.
