Box Score
MADISON, N.J. (October 10, 2010) - Field Hockey picked up its tenth win of the fall with a 3-0 victory over cross-street rival Farleigh Dickinson this afternoon. Drew now has taken both Battles of Madison Ave. with men's soccer defeating the Devils 1-0 earlier this fall.

Drew
(10-2) used two first half goals and stingent defense to help create the separation on the scoreboard. Freshman Brooke Gagliano (Freehold, N.J./Freehold) was credited with the first Ranger goal at the 18:25 mark. Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) took the ball into the left side of the circle and backhanded a pass to Gagliano who was waiting at the far post.

Mary Esposito (Woolwich Twp. N.J./Kingsway Regional) put Drew up 2-0 with five minutes remaining in the first half. Eggert got her second assist of the afternon and her fifth of the year when she centered a pass in which Esposito chipped over the goalkeeper head.

Farleigh Dickinson (7-5) could not muster much offense and were held to four shots in the game. The first half of play did not see a penalty corner or shot from the Devils.

The second half saw a much different Devil attack as they drew seven penalty corners and registered all four of their shots. In what became the theme of the afternoon, Drew's defense was relentless and squandered each opportunity the Devil offense came up with. The Ranger defense set the tone early in the second half when FDU drew three penalty corners all in the same minute and only managed one shot which was denied by goalkeeper Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin).

With the win, Drew has now held opponents scoreless for the sixth time this season. Head Coach Felicia Cappabianca picked up her third 10 win season in her four seasons at the helm of the Drew Field Hockey Program. She is the third coach in Drew history to have three 10 win seasons.

The Rangers will host Montclair State on Wednesday night at 7:00.
