Box Score
MADISON, N.J. (October 13, 2010) -
Hannah Rau (Hallowell, Maine/Hall Dale) ripped the ball into the right side of cage with a little over five minutes remaining in the first overtime to defeat Montclair State, 2-1 on a brisk night at Ranger Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Drew (11-2) took its first lead of night in the middle of the second.
Stacie Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md./The Calverton School) tipped a pass from classmate Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) by the Red Hawk goalkeeper.

Montclair State (8-4) would bounce back just six minutes later when they took advantage of a penalty corner. Diana Columbo centered a pass that was fired past the Drew defense by Deana Hagel that evened the score at one.

The two teams would battle for the next 20 minutes of play before Rau got the gamewinner off Eggert's second assist of the night. The evenly matched game saw an identical amount of shots, nine, by both squads with the Rangers holding a 6-5 edge over the Red Hawks in penalty corners.

The win marks the first over Montclair St. since the 1998 season when Drew came out with a 3-1 victory. The Rangers take hold of the all-time series 13-12 against the Red Hawks. A former assistant at Montclair, Head Coach Felicia Cappabianca registered her first win against her one-time boss and currently has a 9-1 record in overtime in her career at Drew.

The Rangers will hit the road to take on the Eagles of Juniata College on Saturday at 1:00 in Landmark Conference action. Drew is currently 3-0 in conference play.
