Rangers Edge Past Ospreys in Final Minutes

POMONA, N.J. (October 19, 2010) - Meeting the Ospreys for only the second time, the Rangers looked to keep the series in their favor. With today's 1-0 victory, Drew is undefeated in this matchup.

From the first whistle, Drew (12-3) came out on the offensive. In the first half, the Rangers outshot Richard Stockton (1-13) 8-3 and earned eight penalty corners, landing four shots on goal. Not able to convert they went into the half tied.

The second half was much the same, the Rangers kept the offensive dominance with nine additional shots and five penalty corners. The defense stayed solid holding the Ospreys to only one shot in the final 35 minutes. With ten minutes remaining, the game winner was netted by a combination between 
Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) and Meghan Howlett (Garwood, N.J / Arthur L Johnson). Eggert found an open Howlett who was able to convert for her fifth goal of the season and 20th of her Ranger Career.

In the cage for Drew,
Lauren Fasano (Branchville, N.J / High Pointe Regional) with two stops in the contest reached a milestone recording her 100th career save.

With tonight's victory the Rangers earn their seventh shut-out of the season. Field Hockey returns to action this Friday, October 22nd when they travel to Washington D.C to face Landmark Conference opponent Catholic University.
