WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 22, 2010) - The Rangers suffered only their fourth loss of 2010 as they fell to nationally ranked Catholic, 3-1. The Catholic defense held Drew to only two shots on the evening compared to the Cardinals 20.

Catholic (12-2, 3-2 Landmark) scored the first three goals of the game and put Drew (12-4, 3-2 Landmark) in an early hole. The Cardinals scored their first two goals in late in the first half both of penalty corners. Catholic earned 15 corners on the day and would convert three of them for scores.

The Cardinals added one more goal at the 63rd minute when another penalty coner was turned into an unassisted goal by Tory Galiardi. The Rangers would draw six, second-half corners come up with two shots but it wouldn't be enough to overcome the 3-0 lead.

Sarah Charles
(Long Valley, N.J./West Morris) scored her fifth goal of the year with a little under five minutes to play in the game off a pass from Meghan Howlett (Garwood, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson).

The Rangers are now sit in fourth place in the Landmark Conference Standings. With the bottome three teams already with three and four losses the Rangers are poised to return to the Landmark Conference postseason for the second year in a row. Depending on tomorrow's results, Drew's next game against Susquehanna next Saturday could determine where the Rangers will travel for the first round.
