Ducks End Rangers' Winning Streak

Ducks End Rangers' Winning Streak

Box Score

HOBOKEN, N.J.(October, 6, 2010) - The Rangers seven game winning streak came to an end tonight when they fell to Stevens, 3-0.

Last year the ladies of Drew stuned the Ducks in a 3-2 OT nail biter, but tonight they could not seem to muster anything offensively. Stevens kept the conference leading goal scorer,
Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls), silent and held the Rangers to only four shots on the contest.

In the first half, the Rangers kept the game in reach, only being outshot 5-3. While sluggish early offensively, Drew held solid in the back until the 34th minute when Stevens scored on a breakaway. In the second half, the Rangers were unable to mount a comeback from the one goal deficit. The Ducks would find the back of the cage two more times in the second to reach the final score, 3-0.

In goal for the Rangers,
Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H. / Bishop Guertin) and Lauren Fasano (Branchville, N.J. / High Point Regional), split the contest and had six saves on the night.

After tonight's game, the Ducks even the all-time series at two.

Field Hockey returns to action this Saturday at 1 p.m.when they host Conference opponent Scranton Royals. The Rangers look to improve to 3-0 in Conference play.
