Rangers Remain Unblemished in Conference Play

MADISON, N.J. (October 9, 2010) - Drew (9-2, 3-0 Landmark) has fallen short to Scranton (
5-6, 1-2 Landmark) in the past two years, but this afternoon the Rangers came out victorious. At the halfway point in conference play, Drew remains one of two unbeaten teams in the Landmark .

In the first half, possession went back and forth keeping the game notched at zero. Scranton would get on the board first in the 30th minute with a goal from Kaela Mahon. The Rangers would would respond just befor the half when
Meghan Howlett (Garwood, N.J. / Arthur L. Johnson) took a long shot from the right side of the circle that ended up in opposite side of the cage.

The Rangers came out on the offensive in the second half outshooting the Royals 8-2, and capturing five penalty corners. Drew would get the go ahead early in the second half when 
Stacie Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md. / Calverton School) found Brooke Gagliano (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) in the left corner to sneak the ball past the goaltender.

Howlett would help the Rangers again on their third goal of the afternoon when she sliced the ball to an open 
Sarah Charles (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris)  in the 47th minute.

The last goal of the afternoon came when Captain 
Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) tapped the ball home off a pass from Hannah Rau (Hallowell, Maine / Hall-Dale) 19 minutes remaining.

The Rangers played solid defense, limiting Scranton to six shots, only one of which landed on goal. In the cage,
Lauren Fasano (Branchville, N.J. / High Point Regional) picked up her fourth win on the season.

Field Hockey returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, October 10th when they face off against neighborhood rival Fairleigh Dickinson at 4:30 p.m. in their annual Battle of Madison Ave.
