Cardinals Get Best of Rangers in Season Finale

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 14, 2010) - Playing in their first ever ECAC Championship game, the Rangers came up a goal short with a 2-1 loss against Landmark Conference foe, Catholic University.
Catholic (17-4), who took home their first ever ECAC Championship, jumped out to a 2-0 lead courtesy of First Team All-Landmark performer, Mary Swarthout. She picked up her 16th goal of the season just 3:51 into the game and just before the half tied Drew's
Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) for the league lead in goals.
Drew (15-7) would come out a different team in the second half of play and would not make it easy for the Cardinals to come away wih their second victory of the season over the Rangers. The Landmark's Offensive Player of the Year, Eggert, would re-claim the leagues scoring lead and pull the Rangers within a goal 12:42 into the final half of play. The Rangers were awarded a corner in which
Sami Calabrese (Dover, N.H./Dover) was able to find Eggert to make the score 2-1.
After scoring the goal the Rangers would get only one more shot off despite drawing four more corners in the final 22 minutes of play.
Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) played all 70 minutes for the Rangers and made three saves.
