Rangers Edged By #24 Vassar

MADISON, N.J. (March 29, 2010) – Drew (2-5) nearly knocked off the undefeated Vassar College (11-0) this afternoon in the Simon Forum. The Rangers took the contest down to the final match but were eventually fell to the Brewers, 5-4.

Rain forced the match to moved inside the Simon Forum and Athletic Center but didn't seem effect either squad. The Rangers and Brewers split singles play after Alex Belflore (Knowles Grove, England/TSCIS) , Elliot Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Christo Ray) and Jon Pransky (Swampscott, Mass./Swampscott) each won in straight sets.

The Brewers held the advantage in doubles as the duo of Raul Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Christo Ray) and Elliot Smego were the only Drew pair to emerge victorious. The Smego brothers now have won their last two bouts, improving their season record to 2-3.

Men's and Women's Tennis will hit head south this weekend to clash with conference foe Goucher in Towson, Md. Start time is currently slated for 12:00.
