The Drew Rangers scored four goals in the final six minutes of play but fell 14-11 to the Ursinus College Bears Saturday afternoon in Collegeville. The Rangers fell to 1-1 on the season while the Bears improved their record to 1-1. Sophomore Aileen Musynke led the Rangers with four goals.
The Bears jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first half but the Rangers responded quickly and tied things up with goals from Musynke and junior Staci Brown. Musynke and Brown would both score again for the Rangers but the Bears took at 7-5 lead into the half.
The Bears came out of the break on fire, and went on a 5-2 run to stretch their lead to 12-7 over the Rangers. Two more Bears' goals put the Rangers down by seven with 7:46 remaining in the game. Sophomore Lyndsay Rossi scored two goals in the late game comeback, and they Rangers held off the scorching Bears' offense but came up short.
For the Bears, Lindsay Urban scored four goals, Emily Cannon had 3. Keeper Alex McBride notched twelve saves picking up the decision.
Rossi finished with two goals, two assists. Brown tallied three goals and picked up two ground balls. Junior keeper Rachel Hanley recorded seven saves in the loss.
The Rangers travel to West Palm, FL and take on Wesleyan Monday, March 8th at 8:00am.
