Rangers Still Unblemished in Landmark Regular Season Play
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (May 1, 2010) – The Rangers took home there third-straight Landmark Conference Regular Season Title this afternoon as they took down previously unbeaten Moravian today, 6-3. The Rangers have yet to lose a regular season bout since entering the Landmark, improving their record to 21-0.
Drew (10-6, 7-0) finished their regular season up on a tear, winning the final seven matches while capturing four shutouts on the way. The win will guarantee them home-court advantage in the Landmark Playoff as they are set to take on fourth-seeded Catholic on Wednesday at a time to be determined.
The Rangers had three of their closest doubles matches of the season but took all three to set the tone early. With the 3-0 cushion,
Raul Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristo Rey), led off and took down number one singles, 6-0, 6-3.
Matt Brisotti (Mattituck, N.Y./Mattituck) then clinched the conference in the next match with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Doug Morrow.
