Rangers Pick Up Sixth Straight Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (September 25, 2010) - The Drew Field Hockey squad continues to roll as they start off their Landmark Conference schedule with a 4-3 win over Moravian. The Rangers rallied from a 2-0 deficit and scored four of the game's final five goals.
Moravian (4-4, 0-1 Landmark) got off to a quick start and opened up a 2-0 lead at the 23:35 mark. Drew (7-1, 1-0 Landmark) would manage a goal with 3:55 remaining in the half with an unassisted goal from
Melissa Kistle (Sandyston, N.J./Kittatinny Regional). The first half goal was Kistle's second of the year and her eighth point of 2010.
The Rangers statistically dominated both halves by out shooting the Greyhounds 20-8 on the day and drew nine more corners. The Rangers got to work at the 38 minute mark where a goal from
Stacie Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md./The Calverton School) would tie the game at two and the game-winner from freshman
Jess Johnson (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Senior) came just seconds later.
The country's leading scorer,
Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) would put the game out of reach when she scored her 15th goal of 2010 with 14 minutes to play.
The Rangers will be participating in round two of the "Battle of Mad. Ave" when they host FDU on Thursday at 7:00.
