Cabrini Holds off Drew, 2-0

MADISON, N.J. (September 4, 2010) - Despite outshooting the Cavaliers 16-11, the Rangers fell to the Cavaliers 2-0 on a picture perfect afternoon in Madison. Cabrini got an early second half goal by Lauren Alessi that would put the Cavs up for good.
After holding Cabrini to just two first half shots the Cavs came out firing at the beginning of the second half. At the beginning of the frame the Cavs were awarded five-straight penalty corners and finally the Drew defense broke allowing Lindsay Atzerts pass get to Alessi's stick for the go-ahead goal.
The Ranger offense would respond by controlling the ball for much of the final minutes of the game. Over the final 16 minutes of the contest Drew would get seven of its eight second half shots including six penalty corners.
Drew and Cabrini would each have 10 penalty corners on the day.

Hannah Rau (Hallowell, Maine/ Hall Dale) made her first defensive save of the year early in the second half.
The Rangers will return to action next Saturday when they travel to Mercy College for a 1:00 non-conference matchup.
