HUNTINGDON, Pa. (January 22, 2011) - The Rangers picked a timely part of their schedule to string together their fourth-consecutive wins as they defeated Juniata 72-70 overtime this afternoon. The win puts Drew (8-9, 4-3 Landmark) in second place in the Landmark Conference standings.

For the second-straight day the Rangers found themselves in another battle in the closing minutes of the ball game. After an Eagle layup, the Rangers went down by four with 3:19 remaining in the game. Senior Mike Mayes (Linden, N.J./St. Mary's) got the Rangers back within one with a three pointer from the corner with 2:31 left in regulation. Asmar Capers (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) then was able to give Drew their first lead since the opening minutes of the second half on a pair of free throws with 47 seconds left.

The Eagles would miss a layup on the ensuing possession and the Rangers tried to quickly move the ball up the court after a Lucas Levenson (Margate City, N.J./Atlantic City) rebound to try and catch Juniata off guard. The Rangers would miss an open layup with 19 seconds remaining on the clock and luckily for the Eagles, the rebound bounced right into the hands of Alex Raymond who was fouled trying to advance the ball up the court.

With 15 ticks on the clock and the Eagles in the double bonus, Raymond would get the chance from the free throw line to knot the game and possibly give Juniata the lead. Raymond not only missed the first but had his second roll off the side of the rim, but once again the Eagles were there for the opportune rebound. Lucas Mallot would get fouled attempting the put back and Juniata would have the chance to tie or take the lead one more time. Mallot went on to hit the first and miss the second giving the Rangers a shot to win with 13 seconds left in regulation.

The Rangers were unable to get a final shot off and be forced to an extra five minutes for the second time this season. After exchanging baskets in the first 30 seconds, junior Dara Mc Keon (Dunboyne, Ireland/St. Peter's College) nailed a three from the wing to put the Rangers up three. Terrell Brown (Camden, N.J./Woodrow Wilson) would get a layup and a free throw to seal the game for the Rangers.

Capers once again led the Rangers with a game-high 29 points. Brown and Mc Keon were the other Rangers in double figures, scoring 14 and 13 points respectively. Brown had another tremendous game on the boards, collecting 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.

The Rangers have put together four-straight Landmark Conference wins for the first time since the inception of the conference in 2007.

Drew will return home on Tuesday night to take on Vaughn College at 7:00 PM.
