MADISON, N.J. (October 1, 2011) – Drew (7-4, 2-0 Landmark) remained unbeaten in the Landmark Conference today with a 4-1 victory over Moravian College (5-4, 0-2 Landmark) at Ranger Stadium. Melissa Boyd (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) was credited with an assist and her third goal of the fall.

The Greyhounds captured the lead early, scoring in the 20th minute when Chelsea Grotyohann knocked in a rebound for her fourth goal of the season. Trailing in the first half for only the third time this season, the Rangers knotted the game at one a little over five minutes later when Boyd delivered a pass to Angela Terracciano (Keansburg, N.J./Raritan) for her sixth goal of the season.

The score remained tied for the rest of the first half with the Rangers holding a 7-5 edge in shots and 12-4 advantage on penalty corners. Boyd opened the second half scoring in the 40th minute by virtue of a penalty stroke where she was able to beat the goaltender to the bottom corner.

Drew added two more goals in the frame including the second penalty stroke of the afternoon with 6:49 remaining in the game. Jess Johnson (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Senior) ripped the free shot to the corner of the cage for her first goal of the season and the Rangers fourth of the afternoon.

Ranger goalkeepers Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) and Lauren Fasano (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) combined for five saves in the win, while Greyhound counterpart Andrea Eck, stopped six shots in the loss.

The Rangers will be back in action on Thursday night when they cross the street to take on rival, Fairleigh Dickinson at 7:00 p.m.
