ORLANDO, Fl. (March 10, 2011) - The Rangers fought back in doubles' play, but were unable to catch Coe College's strong singles outing.
Matt Brisotti (Mattituck, N.Y./Mattituck) would record the singles win for Drew (2-1) making it his third consecutive this year.
Coming off a one sided singles competition, brothers
Elliot Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academis Cristo Rey) and
Raul Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academis Cristo Rey) opened doubles with an 8-2 rout of the Kohawks. Next up, the undefeated duo of Brisotti and
Alex Belifore (Virginia Water, England/TASIS) would play the closest match, coming within two. In similar fashion,
Matt Imbo (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and
Adam Gerber (Montclair, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) would battle back but to no avail fall 8-4.
The women too, would fall to the Kohawks this afternoon.
Leslie Monroy (North Plainfield, N.J./Plainfield) and Molly Pryor would have the best outing for the female Rangers just barely edged by Natalie Bordignon and Hannah Helms, 8-5.
The Rangers will return to the courts in Orlando this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. when they face St. Joseph's College.
