MADISON, N.J. (April 23, 2011) – For the eleventh-straight season, the Drew Men's Tennis team is undefeated is conference play and for the fourth-year in a row claim the number one seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournament. The Rangers handled Moravian (8-5, 4-3 Landmark) this afternoon inside The Simon Forum, 8-1.

Today's match against the Greyhounds was the 93rd straight win over a conference opponent as they finish the 2011 spring with 7-0 in the Landmark. The Rangers won the first six matches of the day as they cruised to an 8-1 victory.

Drew (10-6, 7-0 Landmark) won all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. At number one, Raul Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristo Rey) and his brother Elliot Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristo Rey) got back on the winning track, defeating Doug Morrow and Nick Yelito, 8-1. The sophomore Raul Smego, went on to win his seventh Landmark number one singles match of the year to give the Rangers a 4-0 lead.

Alex Belfiore (Virginia Water, England/TASIS) and Matt Brisotti (Mattituck, N.Y./Mattituck) finished the regular season unbeaten for the season and won, 8-4 at number two doubles. Adam Gerber (Montclair, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) and Matt Imbo (Islip, N.Y./Islip) completed the doubles sweep with a 8-1 victory in the three slot.

Straight-set victories for Belfiore and Brisotti at number two and three singles, clinched the match for the Rangers. Gerber and Imbo played one set singles matches to round off the Ranger scoring.

The two teams will do it all over again on Wednesday in the Landmark Conference Semifinals at Drew. A start time as yet to be determined.
